Although I have a PhD degreeĀ in Biology, i love all fields of Science and Research. Thrilling discoveries and inventions in general raise my spirit and heart beat.
I have deep Indian roots ( like the peepul tree) and although now i live in New York, i will always be a very concerned Indian.
I love watching movies and reading books (yes i am a super couch potato), my idea of relaxation is cooking a meal.
Although i make glaring spelling mistakes and my sentences come out straight from an unedited heart,
I write about anything and everything that concerns people’s lives.
Hey there. Nice to see you at wordpress!
So you live in New York! Sounds exciting. But why do so many Indians live there.
Well, anyway, tell us about them! Looking forward to reading…
Dear Nita,
Nice to see your message.
Yes New York is teeming with Indians and Pakistanis and Bangladeshis.
Although I have just moved here from
Los Angeles, I feel that the summer here is just like that in India; hot and humid.
That could be a reason.
Also being the business center (wall street), there are a lot more job opportunities here than other US cities.
There are numerous well established universities, schools and colleges here always crowded with desi students.
These are some of the reasons.
I think it reminds some of Bombay in its layout, the busy public transport, the honking of horns that travels up 30 stories…
Yes Shefaly, because Manhattan is a small space constricted city (i think to a Manhattan this is blasphemy), everything is packed into it and appears crowded and dirty by other US city standards (gosh another one). However all these features make the desi community, myself included feel at home (i wonder why).
wow..PhD! Good job!
Oh.. its really no big deal. I loved basic research in those days and thought i should complete my doctorate.
hi there..
good to see you at ENagar
Thanks
